This is a great way to prepare coffee.
Using a coarse grind for the beans.
Place the ground coffee into a french Press coffee urn. Add hot water. Cover with the plunger.
Plunge the coffee and pour.
You can adjust how strong the coffee is by the amount of ground coffee you use and the amount of time you let the coffee stand before you plunge!
If you have never tried this method, well you should now! Our roasts are great for this.
Firstly get a coarse grind.
Then use one third coffee to two thirds water. Give it a good mix.
Let it stand for 12 hours at room temperature.
Run through a filter.
Dilute to taste!
So for this style of brew you need a medium grind. Heat up water to a boil and let it cool off ever so slightly. Then pour the water through the filter and funnel making sure it is nicely soaked. Use water in the catch container to warm it up but be sure to discard.
Now place your coffee into the filter. Pour in enough water to get coffee wet and stir the coffee grounds to ensure even saturation. Now pour the rest of water through and consistently stir the coffee to ensure even distribution.
Get your coarsely ground coffee together.
Fill the percolator with water to the desired level. Add the coffee grinds to the basket. Put the lid on. Place on a stovetop (open flame) or plug it in (electric). Allow the percolator to do its magic. It should not boil or steam up.
Adjust the amount of coffee grinds used and the length of percolation to adjust the strength and flavor of the coffee.
Yes of course these work too!
Buy yourself some reusable K-cup filter pods.
Get a fine grind to the beans.
Fill up the K-cup and brew!
And no wasted containers.

If you use a filter for your drinking water, then you should use the same filtered water for your coffee. Do not substitute tap water and then wonder why it has a funny taste.
Water is part of the ingredients and it is essential to use good quality water.
